Event Description
The 5K is a flat and fast, out and back shaded course through Madison’s Antebellum Historic District. The 10.2K course follows the same route and continues beyond city limits on scenic rural road, mostly flat with a few moderate rollers. Law enforcement and EMTs will be on duty. Water stops and refreshments will be provided.
5K is USATF Certified and can be used as an Official AJC Peachtree Quailifying Event. #GA13114WC ONLY if you run in person. NO RUN AT HOME TIMES WILL BE POSTED.

Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup: Begins at 6:30AM
5K: Starts at 7:30AM
10.2K: Starts at 8:30AM
Virtual Option: Run your race 5K (3.1 miles) and/or 10.2K (6.34 miles) anywhere you like. Submit finish times by noon on May 8 to http://tiny.cc/21MadisonMayVirtualTimes. Virtual Option is not eligible for t-shirts or awards. 5K times are not eligible as Peachtree Qualifying times.
5K Awards: Given after the start of the 10.2K
10.2K Awards: Given out as runners finish. No ceremony
Awards: Overall first place Male and Female; first place Masters Male and Female; and first, second and third place in each standard age group. (In-Person events only)
Timing and Results: Finish line management provided by Classic Race Services with results posted to www.classiconestop.com, www.classicraceservices.com, www.active.com, www.athlinks.com. Please submit Run at Home times before noon on 5/8/21 to http://tiny.cc/21MadisonMayVirtualTimes
Shirts and Goodies: Pre Shrunk cotton poly blend shirts are guaranteed to those who pre-register by 5/1/21. Those who register on race day will NOT get a shirt. There will be plenty of refreshments.
Series Affiliation: The races are part of the 2021 Black Bag Race Series. Run at home participants will be placed at the back of their respective age groups for points.
Directions: From Atlanta take I‐20 east, from Augusta take I‐20 west, exit 114 (US 441). Travel north toward Madison. Pass through the Historic District. Turn left at the first light, Washington St. One block down Washington St. turn left on First St.
From Athens take 441 South. At the bypass, turn right onto 278/Main St. into Madison. Turn right at the second light, Washington St. One block down at Washington St. turn left onto First St. The race begins and ends at First St. and Jones Alley.
Other Info: In case of rain, the races will go on. Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time. If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time. Sorry, no refunds.
