Event Description

Introducing the Cabin Fever Achiever Challenge (3.0)!

Each week for 8 weeks, we’ll send you a new run challenge. You’ll have 1 week to complete the challenge. Once complete, submit your challenge, with GPS / Garmin / Strava / photo evidence.

Every registered runner will get a shirt. Some weekly challenges will include a bonus prize, courtesy of our sponsors. Other weeks we may spotlight a non-profit to raise awareness of their cause. Our favorite social media posts (Facebook or Instagram) using #CabinFeverAchiever will be selected for an additional prize. A portion of each registration will go to Meals on Wheels - Atlanta. You can read more about Meals on Wheels below.

We launched the first Cabin Fever Achiever Challenge back in April 2020 as a way to help people stay active and connected. FAQ’s

Q: Will this be any different than the CFA Challenge from the previous CFA's?

A: Yes! We’re streamlining the challenge reporting system, adding ways for participants to connect with each other, and ordering our medals much earlier! 2-3 of everyone’s favorite challenges last time may be reinstated. The remainder will be brand new!

Q: How much is registration?

A: Registration is $35 before 2/1, $40 before 3/1, and $45 after 3/8

Q: How hard are the challenges?

A: We want to make this fun for as many runners as possible. Challenges will be manageable for most runners and walkers. If there is a challenge that is too difficult, or can't be completed for any reason, email challenge@runhorizon.com and we’ll send you an alternative!

Q: What if a work or living situation prevents me from completing a challenge?

A: We understand that everybody has a different set of personal challenges, which has only been exacerbated by COVD-19. While we do intend some challenges to be more difficult than others, if it is impossible or beyond reasonable for you to complete, you can email us at challenge@runhorizon.com REQUESTING an alternative challenge and we will provide one for you!

Q: Are you still accepting weekly sponsors and non-profit spotlights?

A: Yes! If you know of a business or non-profit that wants to engage with us please send them our way!

Q: Do I have to run the challenges, or can I walk?

A: Challenges can be completed running or walking.

Q: Do I have to live in Atlanta to participate?

A: Nope! Our first Cabin Fever Achiever Challenge had participants from 29 states and 3 countries! Some of our sponsors will be local businesses, but the challenges can be completed anywhere.

Q: What if I sign up after Week 1 is complete?

A: That's OK! We'll give you a chance to make up any challenges you've missed. You won't be eligible for social media or sponsor prizes for make-up challenges.

Q: How do I prove I completed the challenge?

A: We will send you a form to submit with each week’s challenge email. You can upload garmin, strava, Runkeeper, or photographs. Even a brief written description will suffice. We want the run to be the challenge, not the reporting of it!

Q: How long do I have to submit each challenge?

A: Weekly challenges must be submitted by the following Sunday at 8:00 AM

Q: Does everyone get a t-shirt?

A: Yep!

Q: What are these team challenges?

A: There will be some weeks where teams will have either an alternative challenge or an add-on challenge in addition to the normal one. Don’t worry! Missing a team challenge will NOT affect your individual challenge completion total!

Q: If I’m not on a team does that mean I can’t participate when there’s a team challenge week?

A: Whether you’re on a team or not there will be a challenge every week for you.

Q: Will there always be a weekly prize?

A: Not always. We are working with various sponsors and vendors to provide weekly prizes, but some weeks may not have prizes.

Q: When and how will I receive my t-shirt and prizes?

A: You will receive everything after the challenge is complete. You will have the option to pick up in-person (Atlanta, GA) or may request shipping for no added cost.
