Event Description
Do you enjoy running, walking, or bicycling? Join us on Saturday, May 14, 2021, for our Second Annual Virtual 5K Race for Every Breast Cancer Survivor, where you may choose your preferred way to break a sweat, while supporting breast cancer survivors. Start a team of friends and/or colleagues, join one of our existing teams, or run as an individual.
Corporate teams are welcome and encouraged. Last year's corporate teams used this event as a way to show support for the breast cancer survivors in their community, as well as for morale and team-building during this difficult time with COVID-19. It's also a great way to build relationships in a fun, collegial activity with breast surgeons and others with an interest in helping breast cancer patients. There's no cost to start a team, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation will promote your goodwill to our U.S.-based and international audiences.
Other breast cancer and breast health patient advocacy nonprofits can use this as fundraiser. Let's collaborate! You can do a fundraiser through our Virtual 5K Race for Every Breast Cancer Survivor by setting up a team for your nonprofit, and you keep 50% of the total raised by your team. There would be no cost to you to start a team, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation would promote your involvement to our audiences for free, complementing your organization's efforts promoting your team and cause.
The top three teams will be recognized in a special awards ceremony. Run/walk outside or inside around your kitchen. Take your bike on a path outside or ride your Peloton indoors. And all may be done at your own pace. It's up to you! Registrants are also invited to attend a fun evening celebration and concert with live-streamed family-friendly cover songs.
The Virtual 5K Race for Every Breast Cancer Survivor is being organized by the American Society of Breast Surgeons and American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation, a charitable 501c3 organization. Funds from registration fees and donations to the race will provide funding for free breast cancer survivor support programs, as well as fund breast cancer research and community outreach grants.
