Carthage Water & Electric Plant (CWEP), is hosting a 5k & 1-mile fun run, in honor of 
Drinking Water Week (May 2nd - 8th) This is an important week set aside each year to help bring awareness to the Carthage community of the benefits of tap water, that a safe, reliable water supply is critical to the success of any community. This week gives a unique opportunity for both water professionals and the communities they serve to join together in recognizing the vital role water plays in our daily lives. We always look forward to celebrating this week with our Carthage community and can't wait to race you to the finish line!

WHERE DO THE FUNDS GO?All proceeds from the run will be donated to Water For People, an organization that exists to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all. To learn more about Water For People, visit their website

THE COURSEThe course will start at the South CWEP Water Tower, on George E. Phelps Blvd., and takes you down past the historic Main St. Water Tower then back around to a fun finish at the South Water Tower. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating!

EVENT DETAILS & SCHEDULE
PACKET PICKUP: Will take place in the CWEP Lobby on Friday, May 7th from 9am-5pm (627 W. Centennial Ave., Carthage, MO).
RACE DAY: Arrive at the parking lot just West of the South Water Tower to check-in. The race will begin promptly at 8am.
WHAT TO BRING: Comfortable/suitable running attire, t-shirt, race bib and pins.
