Event Description

Whether you’re looking for views of the Las Vegas strip or a run through the park, the Summerlin Half Marathon provides both in the master-planned community of Las Vegas Valley’s Summerlin, one of the most affluent communities in the state.

The Summerlin Half Marathon begins and ends at the newly-built downtown Summerlin, home to a wide variety of restaurants and retail. From there, the half marathon heads north along South Pavilion Center Drive for over two miles before turning left onto Sageberry Drive, which makes up half of a ring road with Laurelglen Drive. Runners continue north along the uphill Sageberry Drive until reaching Tree Top Park and continuing south along the Arbors Paseo trail to Arbors Trail & Play Park.

Runners complete small sections along Laurelglen Drive, Acacia Tree Drive, and Anasazi Drive before turning right and running down South Town Center Drive. The major uphill climbs start here, with a gentle uphill section on South Town Center Drive and a tougher uphill climb from miles 5.5 through 9 while leading runners through the Cottonwood Canyon Trails, north along the Western Beltway Trail and west toward Red Rock Canyon. The climb is worth it — race organizers note that miles 7.5 through 9 offer gorgeous views of the Las Vegas Valley with photo opportunity moments.

The last section of the course is mostly downhill, taking runners along Desert Foothills Drive and the Western Beltway Trail before crossing the finish line in downtown Summerlin, where celebrations await.
