Event Description
“The Heart of a Hero: Matt’s Run 5K,” at Cal Poly Pomona, on Saturday, October 17, will celebrate everyday heroes who use their powers for the greater good. Runners and walkers in the 10th annual run/walk are encouraged to wear the costume of their favorite superhero.
Participants will traverse the scenic landscape of Cal Poly Pomona, passing residence halls, citrus groves, vineyards and pastures, with close-up views of the Arabian horses, farm animals and architecturally stunning buildings that house student research projects. The race ends in front of the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center.
All pre-registered participants will receive a race shirt, logo item and post-race refreshments. Proceeds benefit the Matt’s Run scholarship fund for Cal Poly Pomona students.
It’s a great weekend to visit Cal Poly Pomona, which will also be holding its annual Pumpkin Festival, featuring 100,000 gourds, and Insect Fair.
