Event Description

We have been collaborating with our Chamber of Commerce and have made it possible to bring our Rantoul 5k/1k back to our 4th of July weekend festivities.  This year's 5k will start at Rantoul High School and finish in the downtown Rantoul business district during our Friday Night Freedom Celebration. There will be live music, beverages, food, bags tournaments, the bubble guy for kids, and a balloon artist! This year's race will still benefit the RTHS track program, Rantoul Rockets AAU Team, and the Rantoul Crusaders Special Olympics program.  

Event details and schedule

On site registration and packet pick up starts at 5:00pm. The 5k starts at 6:00pm and the Kid's 1k starts at 7:00pm. Registration will take place in front of Lindsey Lane Bridal on 200 E. Sangamon Ave, Rantoul. The start line will be at State Farm Insurance at 320 E. Sangamon Ave, Rantoul.  The kid's 1k race will start at State Farm Insurance as well. Please practice social distancing.

Awards will be given to 7 age groups male/female in the 5k, the overall winner and runner up male/female, and prizes will be awarded to 3 age groups in the kid's 1k.  Awards will be handed out following each race in front of the stage downtown where the live music is being played.  

Please park in any of the spots in downtown Rantoul.  There are also a couple of big rock parking lots near downtown, a big lot that used to be the home of Rogers Chevrolet, and a lot near the train station that can be utilized as well.

T-Shirts are not guaranteed after June 26th.

ET's Sports Bar and Grill downtown has provided two beverage chips for the first 75 entries that are over the age of 21!
