Event Description

Walk or Run 1.54 Miles or 5.4 in honor of the 1 in 54 Children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder each year.  Complete your Walk/Run between April 2 (World Autism Awareness Day) and April 30.  Participants will receive a medal and a ‘race day’ shirt.
All proceeds raised will go to fund scholarships for autistic children to participate in adaptive swim and therapeutic riding.
Non-traditional therapies have many benefits that just don’t come with traditional therapies (OT, PT, ABA, etc.).  Unfortunately, these Non-traditional therapies aren’t covered by insurance and many of the funding agencies that helped support autistic children through these therapies have stopped funding since the COVID pandemic.
Adaptive Swim teaches autistic children how to be safe in and around water and is calming for many autistic children with sensory problems.
Therapeutic Riding is calming for autistic children with anxiety and sensory problems while teaching responsibility and empathy.
The benefits of these two therapies are long... we’re happy that this Walk/Run will allow children to benefit from these therapies through Swim AngelFish and Your Angel Wings, while also raising Autism Awareness and Acceptance!
