Event Description

The Hokes Bluff Library Foundation and our Co-Sponsors:  Hokes Bluff Lions Club and Tawanna Lions Club, invite everyone to join us as we go "BOOKIN IT" THROUGH THE BLUFF on May 15th beginning at 8:00am.

The race will be an exciting triathlon totaling 46 kilometers starting at the Hokes Bluff Community Center.  Athletes will begin with a 10K run through the streets of Hokes Bluff to the Hokes Bluff Ferry Park, participants will kayak almost 4.5 kilometers down the Coosa until they reach the designated landing spot at Coosa Veranda Subdivision.  The race will continue, as the challengers complete a vigorous 32 kilometers cycle through Eastern Etowah County to the finish line at the Hokes Bluff Community Center.

The race can be completed by an individual athlete, teams of three athletes, or an athlete can choose to run the 10K first leg of the race ONLY.  The 10K course is a point to point and runners will be bussed back to the Hokes Bluff Community Center.

ALL proceeds go to the Hokes Bluff Library Foundation.

Triathlon (Team of 3) - $125.00

10K ONLY - $40.00

KAYAK RENTAL OPTION - $30.00 BIG advantage to renting kayak a head of time is the kayak co. will have your kayak numbered and ready for you at the water when you finish the 10K run, otherwise, you will be responsible for getting your kayak from staging area to the water.

All TRIATHLON participants are required to be wearing life jackets before kayaks enter the water.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Triathlon: 1st half goes through beautiful section of town.  2nd half is on county back roadswith very little trasffic and less than a mile on main Road.

10K:  New and improved!  Pleasant run through farming community on county roads.  Shaded rolling hills, mostly flat, with over a half mile down hill to the finish!

KAYAK:  4.5K distance paddling with current.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION: 

You may register on the the day of the event at the Hokes Bluff Community Center from 6:00am to 7:45am.

PACKET PICKUP:

Registration packets can be picked up Friday, May 14th at the Hokes Bluff Public Library from 4:00pm - 6:30pm.

TSHIRTS:

All participants are guarenteed a dry blend race Tshirt if registered by May 1st.

TRIATHLON: Overall Male/Female; Male/Female AGE GROUPS 3 Deep:18 and Under, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70 and Up.

TRIATHLON TEAMS: Male/Female/Co-Ed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each catagory.

10K: Male/Female Top 3
