Event Description

The 10th Annual ROCC 5K is going virtual (with a twist) for this year's event to raise funding and awareness for the Center of Hope.

You might be asking, "What does virtual "with a twist" even mean?"

On Saturday, May 8, runners and walkers will travel 3.1 miles in many different places, all for one cause. Of the many places you may choose to complete your race, one of them is from River Oaks Community Church in Clemmons, NC. Between 8am - Noon, an "official" start banner will be raised with an official photo op, to send you on your way. You are welcome to run the practice route of our 5K course (chalk markings will be laid down along the route), or create your own around West Forsyth High School or surrounding neighborhoods. Post-race water and fruit will be available to grab-n-go after the completion of  your route. The WBFJ music van will be onsite if you want to simply hangout post-race. The details:

- Registration includes a 10th Annual Race Shirt, an entry in the 2021 sponsor drawings-palooza, an opportunity to be one of the first 100 households to compete from ROCC and receive a commemorative item from the Forsyth Jail & Prison Ministry, and most importantly, a direct contribution to the Center of Hope, an organization that is been on the front lines of supporting our neighbors in need throughout the pandemic.

- This is an "open course." In other words, Lewisville Clemmons Road is NOT closed off to traffic as in past years, and there is NO traffic control. However you are free to create your own route and measure your own distance along the sidewalks, parking lots, neighborhood streets, or wherever your creativity and determination take you!

- Unfortunately, there will be NO Fun Run, Kid's Zone, or Sponsor's Alley in 2021 - thank you for understanding.

- Race shirts and winning gift cards can be picked up through a drive-through operation on Friday afternoon, May 7, between 4pm - 7pm, or Saturday morning between 8am - Noon. Winning gift cards will be mailed for those unable to attend.

- After completing your May 8 walk / run, whether here or there, we will be collecting post-race selfies for a "Group Photo."

We hope you will register to run or walk 3.1miles as a virtual, collective togetherness, on May 8. We would love for you to stop by within our distancing window and enjoy at least some aspect of the race day environment, if you are comfortable in doing so. Most of all we are hopeful that you would consider learning more and/or donating further to the Center of Hope.
