Event Description

SEP 28-29, 2019
NORTH LAKE TAHOE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP POWERED BY RAKUTEN
NORTH LAKE TAHOE, OLYMPIC VALLEY CA

Located a short ride from Lake Tahoe, this epic venue was once host to the 1960 Olympic Winter Games. Join us today for the greatest obstacle course race in North Lake Tahoe.

The obstacle racing weekend of the year will feature three Spartan Race distances to choose from over two days of racing: The Spartan Beast, Spartan Ultra and Spartan Trail. Which challenge are you ready to accept?

Spartans are in for an adventure filled with traverses, climbs, crawls and perhaps even some swims. Come prepared.

RACE INFO

The Ultra is the first race of its kind to bring the best of OCR and ultra-endurance sports together. If you’re a traditional ultra-endurance sports fan, you will love the Ultra.

If you’re looking to unleash your inner beast and go to places you never imaged, the Spartan Beast is perfect for you. With 13 mi / 21 km and 30 obstacles between you and the finish line, the Spartan Beast will test everything you’re made of: your strength, your endurance, your resolve. The unpredictable terrain and Spartan Obstacles are masterfully designed to push you deep into your discomfort zone, and well past those self-imposed obstacles you once considered your limits. Beast mode: on.\

WHAT TO BRING (ULTRA)
Your ID
Barcode (print or save your registration barcode to your phone.)
Towel & extra (dry) clothes
Mandatory Gear: One working headlamp and two glow sticks.
Recommended Gear: Extra headlamp batteries, a means of carrying at least 32oz of water, electrolytes, calories, appropriate gear given the weather, first aid material.

WHAT TO BRING (BEAST)
Your ID
Barcode (print or save your registration barcode to your phone.)
Towel & extra (dry) clothes
Recommended: Headlamp and Camelback

WHAT NOT TO BRING
Outside food and drink (racers, fuel for the race is OK), Negative Attitude

WHAT TO WEAR
We recommend dressing in performance gear (NOT COTTON). Think compression tights or shorts and breathable tops made from water wicking material. Wear comfortable shoes that you’ve trained in, but beware, they are going to get dirty.

In addition to your clothes, consider fuel when planning for race day. For a Sprint distance you can normally get away with the water stations on course, but for our longer distances (Super, Beast, Ultra) we strongly suggest wearing a hydration pack and carrying energy gels or Clif bars.

We have all you need to gear up for race day at the Spartan Shop.

Professional event day photos will be posted on the event page 5-7 days after the event, FREE OF CHARGE! We’ll email you when your photos are ready!
