Event Description

The Cross Bay Swim is a challenging open water swim of 5.5 miles across Great South Bay from the Fire Island Lighthouse to Gilbert Park, Brightwaters. This event was first held in 1927, marking 90+ years of tradition and friendly competition. There is a strict limit on the number of swimmers accepted.

This year may present unique challenges due to COVID-19. We are prepared to adapt as conditions evolve. We want everyone to know that we will do everything possible to uphold our 'Safety First' tradition. Please consult our website for further guidance on our plans as we adapt. And remember two things: (1) it is a Swim, not a race and (2) we fund Hospice Care Network Children and Family Bereavement. Your fundraising (requested minimum $500) is more important than ever before. Thank you!
