Event Description

This year is the FIRST EVER Hazard-Perry County Women's Club Rose Race!!!  In keeping with the Hazard/Perry County Women’s Club's aim of providing for our community through service and compassion, the Women's Club is raising funds to support education.

Get your family, friends, and neighbors together (be safe and socially distant if getting together with people outside your household) for a fun and safe 5k run or Fun Walk.  This is a virtual event and participating is easy and safe!  Once you register for the event, you can pick up your t-shirt at the Perry County Park on May 1, 2021 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., and then complete the 5k or Fun Walk any time between May 1, 2021 and May 15, 2021.  Make sure to join our Perry-Women's Rose Race Facebook group and post pictures of your race results and/or fun pictures of you in your fabulous Women's Club Rose Race t-shirts.  The participant with the most likes at the end of the event receives a prize!  

The $25.00 registration fee includes t-shirt.  Please note that you must register for the race by April 23, 2021 in order get a race t-shirt.  All proceeds will benefit the Hazard-Perry County Women's Club scholarship fund for Hazard-Perry County seniors who plan on attending Hazard Community and Technical College in 2021-2022

Since this is a virtual race, you can compete the race anywhere.  A few routes that are approximately 3.1 miles are:

Perry County Park: Start at the senior citizens center; down past the dog park; loop around Perry Central; past the ball fields; up the steep incline; and then do that loop again.  When you come up the steep include the second time, go back to senior citizens center.

Downtown: Start at the KRADD building/Dr. Avery’s office; down to Woodland Park entrance; and then back to the KRADD building/ Dr. Avery’s office.

The Healthy Mile/Black Gold Shopping Center: Make three loops around the healthy mile and then a little to grow on!
