Event Description

Join us for a once in a lifetime race, the John Glenn Centennial 7 Miler! This event will take place July 17th in New Concord Ohio and is meant to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Glenn. The race is a point-to-point race. It will start in Cambridge, John Glenn's birthplace and finish in New Concord in front of his boyhood home, now the John and Annie Glenn Museum. After the race plan to stay and enjoy the afternoon with friends and family as we celebrate John Glenn's 100th Birthday during the three-day John Glenn Centennial Celebration. Directly following the race there will be a Hometown Parade, free tours of the John and Annie Glenn Museum, NASA Astronaut guest speakers, Food Trucks and so much more!
Proceeds raised at this event will support the Guernsey County Community Development’s (CDC) Great Guernsey Trail and Coal Ridge Park & Trails Development Projects. The CDC built and maintains the 7 mile paved Great Guernsey Trail as well as Coal Ridge Park & Trails. All trails and parks are opened to the public and are free of charge. Funding for the maintenance of the trails and the parks is by donations only.
