Event Description
Alamosa Parks and Recreation and Adams State Adventure Programs are partnering to bring the San Luis Valley the first annual “Valley Bottom Rio Trio”; an adventure-style triathlon race within the City of Alamosa! This fully chip timed race will feature an 8-mile trail bike ride, a 3-mile paddle on the Rio Grande, and a 5k run. Participants will be given the option of doing all three legs of the race solo, or as a part of a 3-person relay team. Bring your own boat or rent a kayak or SUP from us! The inaugural race will take place on the morning of Saturday, June 12th! An outdoor awards ceremony, lunch made from local ingredients, and local beer libations will take place following the race. A free children's adventure triathlon (ages 6-11) will take place before the main event!
