What does the Tampa Firefighters 8th Annual Pediatric Burn Survivor event benefit?
The annual Pediatric Burn Survivor events benefit Camp Hopetake, a week-long summer camp in Tampa for previously burned children of all ages. Camp Hopetake provides a safe and supportive environment for kids to share their feelings and interact with other young burn victims from all over Florida. This non-threatening atmosphere allows them to enjoy activities including swimming, bowling, fishing, games, crafts, movies and more as they cope with the social and emotional scars associated with their injuries.

What is the race day timeline?
6:30 am Day of Registration & Packet Pick Up
8:00 am 5K Start
8:05 am 1 Mile Start

What is the price of the race and is it timed?
5K: $25 until 1/31/18; $30 2/1/18 to 4/13/18; $35 race day—chip timed race
1 Mile: $15 until 4/13/18; $20 race day—not chip timed

What is included in the participant registration price?
5K: Dri-fit unisex race shirt (youth & adult sizes), guaranteed if registered by Sunday, 3/25/18 & finisher medal!
1 mile: Finisher medal! (shirt not included in 1-mile registration)

Are there awards?
Yes! Overall male & female 5K winners receive a Fire Helmet!
Male & female bobblehead awards in 5-year age groups to 80+

Where & When is Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up?

Fri., April 13th 11 am – 6 pm

Where do I park on race day?
Parking is available on downtown Tampa streets in and around the Tampa Firefighters Museum and is usually free on weekends!

Is gear check/hold available race morning?
Gear check/hold is not available, please plan accordingly if waiting to pick up race day!

Are strollers permitted to participate in the 5K or 1-Mile events?
Yes, for safety reasons, participants pushing a stroller/baby jogger will line up at the back of the starting area.

Are dogs permitted to participate in the 5K or 1-Mile events?
Yes, for safety reasons, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash no longer than 6’.
Owners must clean up after their pet(s) and line up at the back of the start area.

Are scooters, bicycles, roller blades or wheeled vehicles allowed to participate?
No, for safety reasons, except for strollers, no wheeled vehicles, including wheeled shoes, are allowed on the course.
