Event Description

The Race for a Cure 5k Fun Run and Walk benefits the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life of Lake County. This is a fun and family-friendly event and all participants are encouraged to dress in all purple to honor those affected by cancer. A 1mile fun lap will also be available for families and participants of all ages to walk or run. After the race, participants are treated to a post-race party with food, a DJ, prizes and more!

ABOUT THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY The American Cancer Society is the only nationwide, community based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

RACE DETAILS
Date: Saturday, June 5th, 2021

Location: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation - Shelter TBD

Schedule: Registration for 5k begins at 8am, race begins at 9am. Registration for 1mile Fun Lap will begin at 9am, lap begins at 10am.

Timing: This year's race will be professionally timed by Great Lakes Race Timing (http://www.greatlakesracetiming.com/). All runners will receive bibs with chips, and can get live results on-site at the end of the race.   

Give-Aways/Awards: All 5k participants signed up before Sunday, May 15th  will receive goodie bags and a medal. Awards will be given for overall top male and female as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each age group.

Registration Fees: Pre-registration fee for 5K is $25, and accepted until Sunday, May 30th. Online registration is strongly recommended, as mail-in registration may not receive size requested. Day of race registration fee will be $35, but -participants will not be guaranteed a goodie bag or medal. Registration fee for the 1mi Fun Lap is $10 per family.
