Event Description
We're excited to welcome back the Atlanta running community to in person racing with the first (and hopefully only) Welcome Back ATL 5K. After almost no in person events in 2020, we're ready to put some street under our feet and get back to green light racing! Join us on Sunday, June 13th for a live, in person 5K through Piedmont Park.
The race starts and finishes at the main pavilion inside of Piedmont Park and is run entirely inside of the park. With the AJC Peachtree Road Race back this year, use this race as a tune up before the big 10K. The race is on a USATF certified course and utilizes chip timing.
Awards will be given to the first overall Male/Female, Masters Male/Female and 1 deep in each age group (10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Note that there will not be an awards ceremony. Awards will be available for pickup at Phidippides in Ansley Mall.
A few notes about safety
- We ask that all runners wear masks while not running, maintain social distancing and be courteous to one another.
- Sanitizer and hand washing stations will be on site.
- Bottled water will be available at the start/finish area, but there will not be a water stop. Runners requiring hydration along the route should bring their own.
Event details and schedule
Early Number Pickup: will be available at Phidippides in Ansley Mall from Wednesday, June 9th through Saturday, June 12th. Phidippides is open M-F 10-7 and Saturday 10-6. Runners picking up their race packets from Phidippides will receive a one time 15% discount on all non-sale purchases.
