Event Description
Join us for the Race to Beat Cancer. All proceeds from Race to Beat Cancer benefit The Cancer Foundation. The Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help alleviate the financial burden of cancer for eligible patients. We are based in Athens, GA and serve 25 surrounding northeast Georgia counties. We provide financial assistance for housing, utilities and transportation costs to cancer patients who are undergoing treatment.
Event details and schedule
NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Registration ends August 26 at 6:00pm
5K and 10K : 7:30AM start time 10K Wave begins at 7:30AM. 5K Wave begins at 7:35AM
5K and 10K Awards: Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female and standard 10-year age groups for both the 5K and 10K event.
Early Packet Pickup: Thursday, August 26 11:00am - 1:00pm and Friday, August 27 11:00am - 6:00pm Location: University Cancer and Blood Center, 3320 Old Jefferson Road, Athens, GA 30607
Timing and Results: Finish line management provided by Classic Race Services with results posted to www.classiconestop.com, www.classicraceservices.com, www.active.com, www.athlinks.com.
Shirts: T-shirt available to participants that register by August 18. Shirts will not be available after this date.
Series Affiliation: The races are part of the 2021 Black Bag Race Series.
COVID PRECAUTIONS: Non-vaccinated runners are highly encourage to wear a mask. Hand sanitizer will be made available to all participants in multiple locations. Disinfectants will be used to wipe down commons areas.
Other Info: In case of rain, the races will go on. Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time. If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time. Sorry, no refunds.
