Event Description

Take a run through the historic Soo Locks Park in downtown Sault Ste. Marie this summer! The 2021 Rock the Locks 5K with be held both In-Person on Saturday, June 19, 2021 and as a Virtual Race.  Proceeds from both events will help fund future events for the community and visitors as well as development opportunities for historic downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

The In-Person race will start at Brady Park and feature a “rolling start” from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm, allowing all participants a safe and socially distanced race. Please no more than 5 runners across the start line at a time. The timed finish line will close at 8:00 pm.

In accordance with current state guidelines, all race participants are required to wear face masks and social distance pre and post-race.  All spectators and volunteers are required to wear face masks at all times and properly social distance.

The Virtual Race can be run or walked anytime at participant’s convenience.  All virtual times can be logged by the participant in a separate Virtual Race category (no awards or race shirt).

Note: COVID guidelines will be monitored to make sure race is in compliance with the guidelines in effect at time of the race; participants will be notified as soon as possible if any adjustments need to be made.
