Event Description

Celebrate Older Americans Month with a tribute to an older person special to you!

Spring is around the corner, and there's no better time to get outside, get moving, honor a loved one, and support a good cause.

Run or walk in ETA’s Light A Spark 15 Day Challenge in honor of, or in memory of, a special older person who sparks love and memories in your heart. We'll mail a certificate acknowledging your tribute, to you or the person of your choice.

Set your own mileage goal for the 15 days, and log your progress here. Earn virtual "badges" along the way, and share your success with others — we’ll be cheering for you too! All proceeds benefit Empowering the Ages, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting and empowering people from different generations.

What do you get from the Light A Spark 15-Day Challenge — other than feeling great, getting moving, and supporting a good cause?

  • Light A Spark 15-Day Challenge t-shirt, in your choice of blue or gold (*MUST REGISTER BY April 1, 2022 to be guaranteed a shirt*)

  • Email and social media posts throughout the Challenge with inspiration, motivation, and an update on our grand total distance

  • LOTS of virtual badges celebrating your progress along the way

  • Access to our Wall of Honor, with the option to post photos of your honoree, or of you, walking or running in the Challenge

  • The option to share tributes to, or memories of, your honoree

  • AND, a special certificate mailed to your honoree or another person of your choice, letting them know you're thinking of them and are honoring them in this challenge! Share this thoughtful gift with a loved one.

NEW THIS YEAR!  IF YOU LIVE IN THE WASHINGTON, DC VICINITY, JOIN US ON APRIL 30, 2022 FROM 7:00-9:30PM FOR A FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT! While there, you can pick up your Light A Spark t-shirt and enjoy meeting our Empowering the Ages community. DETAILS TO COME!

All proceeds benefit Empowering the Ages, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. ETA's mission: to transform lives through facilitating and nurturing relationships across all generations. We connect people of different ages to each other and their communities to share, learn and feel valued. Empowering the Ages currently organizes e-pal programs, online concerts, weekly discussion groups with high school students, and a family support program for underserved pre-K students and their families. Thank you for helping us support even more people of all generations!
