Running > Half Marathon

Event Description

People will register as 3-person teams and will compete staying within 15 feet of each other. Starting together and finishing together. Just like in recovery, we can't do it alone, we need a team!

Find your team and get registered today! This will be an out and back race on the gorgeous Spanish Fork River Trail. It is a gentle, paved trail that follows the Spanish Fork River from Sports Complex Park to Canyon View Park. The trail travels through open farmland with horses and other farm animals. Mule deer are common on this trail. The trail surface is asphalt, cement, or wooden bridge (with railings), and typically at least 6 feet wide. The estimated grade is gentle (3% or less) and the route has a steady downhill when going west.

There are panoramic views of the majestic mountains as you run along the path following the beautiful Spanish Fork river and through the open undeveloped area of the river bottoms. Feel free to walk or run. This is an experience more than a race.

This THREE PERSON half marathon course allows you to experience teamwork and support with friends or family. In life, there may have been times you have felt as though you have been left behind, miss judged, misrepresented, or even miss treated.

AIIA believes that no one is too far gone, no one deserves to be left alone in the dark to struggle, and no one is ever left behind.  You are only as fast or slow as your team must remain no less than 15 feet apart for the decoration of the event. No one starts alone, no one finishes alone.

The No One Left Behind course has been developed to accommodate all runners who are interested in this unique challenge with the advantage of having other teammates there to support, challenge, and inspire.

The event will consist of teams of 3 people per group. Each team will identify a team captain so communication, and instructions in logistics will be easily communicated. Each team will receive a course map prior to the event, a race bib, a team bracelet, an events T-shirt, and a finishers medal.

The racecourse will limit any potential hazards such as traffic, crossing a busy street, and learning any potential risk of getting off course. There will be visual markers, signs, and indicators to ensure that runners stay on course.  Support vehicles will also be available for anything that is unable to complete the half marathon.

There will be multiple aid stations that will be fully stocked with first aid supplies, hydration, and food. There are restrooms located on the west side of the Pavillion by the start line and almost halfway at Canyon View Park.

Once your team is registered for the half marathon, there will be NO CHANGES to team members.  If a team member must drop out, the switch will have to be made on the (Day of packet pick up).
