Event Description

PACE Southeast Michigan is proud to present the first in person SET THE PACE 5K at Eastwood Beach in Stoney Creek Metro Park.

Where do the proceeds from this event go?

The Set the PACE 5K is a fundraiser that supports the PACE Southeast Michigan Community Giving Fund, which helps keep frail, low-income seniors living with dignity in their own homes and communities while providing them with enriching and engaging opportunities.

Why "Set the PACE"?

While the 5K name of Set the PACE is a fun play on words with PACE Southeast Michigan, we also take great concern for how older adults are being cared for in our communities. We see setting the PACE as setting the bar for what it means for seniors to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes. By participating in the PACE Southeast Michigan Set the PACE 5K, YOU can help set up our Community Giving Fund for success, to ensure our participants get everything they need to stay safe in their homes.

What is PACE Southeast Michigan?

PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Southeast Michigan is a unique health plan and comprehensive care provider, committed to keeping chronically ill aging adults in their home by caring for their medical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. While PACE Southeast Michigan provides care to older adults, there are other basic and emergency necessities that, due to funding regulations, are not covered by the program. This is where you and PACE Southeast Michigan’s Community Giving Fund and volunteer program come in! Donate today to support the Community Giving Fund, which helps with costs for roof repairs, repair or replacement of appliances, and avoiding utility shutoffs and evictions. Additionally, you can find gratification with a volunteer position that matches your interest such as day center helper, transportation companion, administrative support, and more. This is a great opportunity to help one of the most vulnerable populations in southeast Michigan – our seniors – stay in the homes and communities they love.

What does my 5K packet include?

All participants who register by Wednesday, May 10, 2023 will receive a 5K shirt, bib, and medal.
