Event Description

The Spring Awakening 10k & 5k Run offers a scenic run along the Houghton canal and an opportunity to kick off your running season! With the snow melt and warmer temperatures of late April, we all will feel a spring awakening! The course is an out and back on the bike path, giving you the full experience of the Keweenaw Waterway. All races will begin and end at Bridgeview Park in Houghton.

For those with longer distance ambitions, the 10k is a great way to jump into spring training, or as a pre-race run for the following week’s race hosted by Queen City Running Co., the Dead Carp 20k Run. Use this as a race, fun-run, rust-buster, or whatever you desire! For those seeking a shorter distance, our 5k is a perfect match! If it's your first 5k or your winter slumber has gone on too long, follow along with our 6-week 5K training program leading up to the race.

Don’t forget the kids! We are also hosting a Spring Awakening Kids’ 1 Mile Dash.
