Event Description

This event is a fencing tournament sanctioned by Amateur Athletics Union (AAU).  

AAU membership is required to participate in this event.  AAU membership is $20 per year for youth athletes and $30 per year for adult athletes.

This is not only a standalone fencing tournament, but it also comprises the fencing event of the 2024 Wolfpack Regional Modern Pentathlon that will be held on the same day.  The other events of the 2024 Wolfpack Regional Modern Pentathlon include a ninja obstacle course race sanctioned by USA Pentathlon Multisport (USAPM) and a non-traditional Aquathlon race (swim and laser-run) sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT).  

The ninja obstacle course race will be held at Ninja Republic in San Mateo, CA.  The swimming, fencing, and laser-run events will be held at Sequoia High School in Redwood City, CA.

To complete the full Modern Pentathlon, you must register for the other events separately.  Alternatively, you may select the 2024 Wolfpack Regional Modern Pentathlon bundle that includes all of the events of the 2024 Wolfpack Regional Modern Pentathlon.

This event is suitable for people of all genders, abilities, and ages (7+).  No previous experience is needed.

For purposes of division assignment, the age of an athlete is their age as of December 31, 2024. 

For youth athletes, the 2024 Wolfpack Modern Pentathlon will serve as a selection competition for Team USA for the 2024 UIPM Youth and Junior World Championships.  Participants will gain valuable experience for the 2024 USAPM National Championships, which will be held in the Fall (location and date TBD).
