The Hawk Chief Run is an annual event held during the Pawnee Indian Veterans Homecoming to honor the memory of Hawk Chief, a noted Pawnee Scout and runner. Hawk Chief, also known as Kutawikucu Resaru, was a Pawnee Scout for the United States Army and is best known for running the first sub-four-minute mile during his time in service.
This event is a 5K Run and 1-mile fun walk. Registration is FREE and open to anyone; all ages are welcome!
✔️When: Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 8:00am
✔️Where: Pawnee Nation Wellness Center, 806 Morris Rd, Pawnee, OK
✔️Register by 5:00pm on June 6 to secure a race t-shirt.
Race day registrations will begin at 7:00am and end at 7:30am, no exceptions. Race day registrations will receive a t-shirt if they are available, however a shirt is not guaranteed.
Packet pick-up will begin 6:30am on race day and end at 7:30am, at the pre-registration table.
