Event Description

Naked Snap Dragon style race. This is an 18 and up event. We will run .86 mile laps around Sunset Mountain on the Snap Dragon trail starting at 10am and the last person to finish each lap will be out. There is no break between laps and if you get lapped by the front runner you are out. You will have to stay with the group and stay competitve or you risk early elimination. We will run until there is only 1 runner left. If you want a break between laps we recommend completing the lap well ahead of everyone else and paying attention to where the other runners are and getting back in the race asap. The rules are: if you are the last person to finish a lap or if you get lapped by another runner you are out.

Just for reference this is an extremely aggressive running trail. I am an avid runner and I can only run this .86 miles in about 8 minutes. The terrain is unforgiving loose gravel, massive downhills along with approximately 215' in elevation gain from the starting gate add in twists and turns to make this event perfect for the elite athlete.  Each paid for entry is good for entrance to Sunset Mountain for race day for two people. This is our annual fundraising event so there are no age group prizes or extra awards given out. The winner will get their name burned into our wooden dragon that will stay onsite and displayed at the pickleball court for people to see. Anyone participating in the snap dragon is welcome to have your picture made with the dragon but only the winner gets their name on it forever!
