One Lake. Three Events. Two Great Causes.
Join us for the inaugural Bass N' Dash 5K Trail Run/Walk held in conjunction with William Newton Hospital Auxiliary's bass fishing tournament! Take to the scenic trails of Winfield City Lake. Presented in partnership with the City of Winfield, the Bass N' Dash 5k is not timed and is a relatively "no-frills" event all about community, terrain, and supporting our local heroes and families. Run with Purpose
Your participation helps us reach a major goal. This year, the Auxiliary is proud to split all proceeds 50/50 with Huxley’s Halo of Hope. This local initiative provides comfort, light, and tangible keepsakes (like weighted bears) to families experiencing the profound loss of a baby. When you run these trails, you are helping a neighbor find light in their darkest hour.
Registration Details
- Entry Fee: $25 (Adults) | $20 (Kids 10 & Under)
- Deadline: Register by May 13 to guarantee your commemorative event shirt.
- Final Call: Online registration closes Thursday, May 28, at noon. There is no day-of registration.

- All-Day Lake Access: Your bib is your pass (a $10 value) to enjoy Winfield City Lake for the entire day. Stay for the fishing weigh-ins, the scenery, or a post-race picnic!

- Post-Race Treats: Enjoy refreshments at the finish line.
Race Day Schedule
- Location: Winfield City Lake main entrance
- Check-in: 7:00 AM – 7:45 AM
- Race Start: 8:00 AM
- Post-Race: Enjoy refreshments and a day at Winfield City Lake! Hang around for the Kids' Fishing Derby (awards at 11:00 AM) or the Big Bass weigh-in (1:00 PM), or stop by The Cooler at the marina.
The Course
You’ll be navigating the natural shoreline of Winfield City Lake. Expect grass, gravel, and rocky terrain underfoot with rolling hills and creek crossings.
Hidden Treasures
Keep your eyes peeled! We’ve hidden "treasures" along the trail. If you find one, you could walk away with $30, $25, or $20 in cold, hard cash.

We will recognize the Top Male & Female in both the Adult and Kids divisions.
