Event Description
This 7-week program will help active kids build their running endurance while having fun. We'll both work hard and play hard!
We will meet at Washington-Liberty High School track OR Oak Grove Park (link below). Use of the track will depend on the W-L athletics schedule. Coach Kate will let parents know in advance where we will meet.
Details:
- Wednesdays at 5:30pm (sessions will finish by 6:15/6:20pm)
- Starting 16 September and wrapping up on 28 October.
- Appropriate for kids approximately 10 and below, though parents should expect to participate (at no cost) with the youngest children.
- Parents run along for free regardless - you don't need to register and run at your own risk, of course, but you are encouraged to join! And/or use that time for your own workout.
- The kids will all receive a post-run snack at the end of each run.
- All kids will receive a prize at the end of the program - help your kids work toward that goal!
- We will practice running drills, run sprints and laps, and finish with games.
- NEW THIS SEASON! Coach Kate will lead the kids in the skills-based running for the first half of each session. Assistant Coach Molly - a UGA student with a public health focus - will lead the second half with running-related games as part of her undergraduate internship.
