Event Description
The 12th Anniversary of the annual Kops for Kids Run/Walk & Roll is a family-friendly benefit race for Contra Costa Kops for Kids. Contra Costa Kops For Kids is a non-profit organization mostly comprised of active and retired law enforcement officers who work in our community to help prevent violence, drug abuse, gangs, and juvenile delinquency in Contra Costa County by reaching out to at-risk youth. All proceeds from the 2018 Run Walk & Roll will be used to support our youth mentoring program, Positive Mental Attitudes seminars (offered for free in Contra Costa County schools), and sports clinics.
The Contra Costa Kops For Kids Run/Walk & Roll features a 1 Mile, 5K and 10K race with a wheelchair division within each race distance. Medals are awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male & female winners in each age category in each race and 2 age categories in the wheelchair division. In addition, trophies are awarded to the fastest male and female runners in the 5K and 10K races.
Age Groups:
Youth: Boys & Girls 12 & under and 13-19.
Adult: Male & Female 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
You can also sign up to run/walk/roll BOTH the 1 Mile and the 5K or 10K for an extra $10.00.
(PLEASE NOTE: if doing both the 1 Mile and the 5K or 10K you will receive a confirmation email for just the 5K or 10K with the 1 Mile race as an additional purchase. We will off-line register you for the 1 Mile to avoid any confusion with Active.com. You will receive bibs for both races at packet pick-up.)
This is a family-friendly race! All ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. Your entry fee includes a custom designed event T-shirt, goody bag, and post-race food & drink.

For our participants that are active/retired law enforcement or military, we also have a perpetual trophy that will be awarded to the law enforcement group or military unit with the most participants. Register your Law Enforcement group or Military Unit today!
There will be law enforcement recruiting booths, sponsor booths, and the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office will have one of their command vehicles to showcase.

Event details and schedule
Early Packet Pick-up and Race Registration Friday, April 27th, 2018 from 4pm-7pm at Roadrunner Sports, 1975 Diamond Bl. in Concord, Willows Shopping Center. You may pick up for friends, family & team members. Entry fee at EARLY PACKET PICK-UP is $40 10K/ $35 5K / $30 1 mile ($5 off for youth 12 & under). Cash, check and credit/debit all accepted! Entry fee on RACE DAY is $45 10K / $40 5K/ $35 1 mile ($5 off for youth 12 & under) on . ** Entry fee $10 extra if doing BOTH the 1 mile along with the 5K or 10K**
Race Day Schedule: Saturday, April 28th, 2018
7:00 AM - 8:00 AM: Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-Up
8:00 AM: Mile Run/Walk/Wheelchair
8:30 AM: 5K & 10K Run/Walk/Wheelchair
Race Start & Finish will be in the parking lot of Lazy Dog Restaurant and the course will be north and south along the Iron Horse Trail.
After the race, enjoy music, post-race food & refreshments and visit our sponsor's booths!
The awards & age group medals will be available for pick up at the AWARDS tent on RACE DAY after winners are confirmed. We will also be presenting the Perpetual Trophy to the law enforcement or military unit with the most participants.
