Parking

Participants and volunteers are asked to park at the Salty Church, 221 Vining Ct, Ormond Beach, FL 32176.  This is across A!A and about a block south and a block west of the transition area.  Do not park in the shopping plaza across the street from the park!  They have actively towed cars in the past.

Transition Area

The transition area is in the parking area of the Granada Beach ramp.  It will open at 6:00am.  All participants must be out of the transition area 10 minutes prior to the start of the first wave.  Transition will be closed at 6:50am.  Only participants will be permitted into the transition area.  Please make sure you have your bike number clearly displayed on your bike and your body markings done before you enter transition.  You will also need to show your bib number, or body marking when you pick up your bike at the end of the event.  Bike racks will be numbered.  Please rack your bike on the appropriate rack.  Please be courteous to your fellow triathletes and minimize your footprint in the transition area.

SWIM

The swim is a 1/4 mile open water swim in the ocean.  Participants will walk down the beach to the start point and will start in two waves.  The first wave will be males at 7:00am.  The second wave will be females and relay teams at 7:05am. Swimmers will be given caps at packet pickup.  You must wear your cap during the swim for safety.  This is a beach patrol requirement.  If the surf is too rough to swim and the lifeguards deem it unsafe we will substitute a 1 mile beach run instead of the swim.  The beach run will also be started in waves.

BIKE

The bike will be an open road ride around Ormond Beach.  Please obey all road rules, watch for traffic and follow the directions of the law enforcement officers assisting with this event.  See the attached sheet for the course, or go online to the registration page to view the maps.  All Riders Must Wear Helmets! You will not be allowed to start the ride without a helmet.  Do not ride your bike in the transition area.  You will mount and dismount the bike directly outside of the transition area.  Please make sure that you have your bike number affixed to your bike.

RUN

The run will be a beach run with participants running South along the beach to the turn around point a mile and a half away, near Andy Romano park.  Participants will then return North on the beach and run through the Finish line on the beach ramp.  You may run closer to the water or further up toward the buildings as suits you.  Please be aware that there may be vehicle traffic on the beach and use appropriate caution and awareness.  Participants must wear their bib number on the run and have it displayed on the front of their body.

RELAYS

The relay swimmer must be body marked.  Relay team members may wait inside the transition area for partners to finish their event.  Teams will receive one timing chip.  The racing member of the team must wear the chip.  Members should transfer the chip inside of the transition area only.  You must ensure that the chip is worm by the correct team member in order to be timed.

POST RACE

All participants will receive custom finisher's medals at the completion of the course.  Post race refreshments will be available for all participants.  Timing information will be posted as available.  Look for the large green feather flag that says Results.  Make sure you turn in your timing chip when you cross the finish line. If you wear the chip back into the transition area after you have finished you risk messing up your timing data.  Results will be posted online immediately following the race.  Click on the Results tab.

AWARDS

Don't forget to stay around for the awards ceremony.  We will be giving out overall male and female, masters and age group awards.  New for this year we will also be giving out awards for the fastest swim, fastest bike and fastest runs overall!  While you are waiting for the awards ceremony check out some of the booths our sponsors will have set up.
