Event Description

As many as 1 million Americans live with Parkinson’s disease– that’s more than multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and Lou Gehrig’s disease combined. Approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease each year, but there are thousands more whose disease goes undetected and yet Parkinson's is not a well-known, well supported disease in comparison.

2020 Event

On April 11, 2020, the 7th Annual First Coast Parkinson’s 5K walk/run, 1 mile fun run, and a 5K Virtual Run is being held to raise money for the Movement Disorders and Parkinson’s Program at the UF Health Neuroscience Institute – Jacksonville. The funds raised from this event will benefit Parkinson’s patients through increased awareness, support groups and research as well as to contribute to multiple projects.
