Event Description
Spokane’s Ultimate Fitness Run…where your race becomes an adventure!
NEW FOR 2020! | Check out the new 10K Trail Run option spanning the epic terrain of Mount Spokane State Park, and reward yourself with stunning views atop Quartz Mountain.
Or, take your trail running experience to a new level with the sport of OCR. All OCR participants will traverse the same beautiful 10K course with the addition of obstacles - including bucket carries, eight foot walls, rope climbs, Z-wall and much more! OCR participants can decide to race Competitive, Open, or as an Open Team.
No matter which division you choose, your race experience will be an adventure unlike any other!
Participants of all ages have four exciting UFR Divisions to choose from —
1) TRAIL RUN | Individual (age 14+) | 10K run (no obstacles): Turn your run into an adventure! Single track, cut out trails, and even a bit of light mountaineering can be expected in the 10K UFR Trail Run. The top three male and female runners will receive trophies. All Trail Run participants will receive a UFR t-shirt and medal. The UFR Trail Run will be the event that stands out when you look back at your season!
2) COMPETITIVE OCR | Individual (age 15+) |10K run plus 20+ obstacles: This division follows strict UFR Rules of Competition, with every participant held to the same standards, testing each individual’s level of fitness against the best in the northwest. All Competitive OCR participants will receive a UFR t-shirt and medal. The top three male and female athletes will receive trophies and prizes.
3) OPEN OCR | Individual or Team (age 15+) |10K run plus 20+ obstacles: Experience obstacle course racing on your own terms. Open OCR participants are on the course to seek challenge, learn more about the sport, but most importantly, have a good time. Open OCR Rules of Competition allow participants to assist fellow Open racers with obstacles, modify their movements when completing obstacles, and reduce the number of burpee penalties after completing their first 30 burpee reps. All Open OCR participants will receive a UFR t-shirt and medal, but not trophies. Looking for a trophy? Register for the Competitive OCR and place top 3 male or female!
OPEN TEAMS: Gather your tribe of friends/family/co-workers and sign up as a team to experience the journey together! Signing up as a team ensures you and your tribe start at the same time. All teams fall under the Open OCR Rules of Competition. Teams will be recognized for spirit (Go team! Go!) and size (strength in numbers!). All Open Team OCR participants will receive a UFR t-shirt and medal.
4) KIDS OCR | 1K run plus obstacles: Running, climbing, jumping — a.k.a. every kid’s favorite activities! The UFR offers a 1K obstacle course race for ages 5 - 14. We recommend parents run with the 5 and 6 year old age groups. The Kids OCR is set up to be fun yet challenging, with great spectating opportunities for the adults! All Kids OCR participants receive a UFR t-shirt and medal.
WHY WE DO THIS | for Team St Luke's, an adaptive sports program for athletes with physical disabilities —Thanks to funds raised by the UFR in 2019, over 100 hours of instructed gym time and training was provided at CoreFit, Inc to Team St Luke's. In addition, gym equipment has been purchased to accommodate special needs of the Team St Luke's training class at CoreFit, Inc. Ultimately, we believe events like the UFR create opportunities for individuals, friends, and families to do the single best thing we can do for ourselves each day - MOVE!
