Event Description
Join us Saturday, August 22nd for the 5th Annual Flume trail running race. There will be a 5K and 10K option for this rugged backcountry foot race through the Sugarloaf Nordic Trail network as well as a 5K Canicross race, back for the third year.
What is Canicross? Canicross is the sport of running with your dog. Each human runs with one dog that is harnessed (mandatory) and attached to their human at all times. Harnesses are highly recommended over traditional collars, all dogs must be leashed at all times.
Registration
Purchase tickets early for the best deals.
5K: $30 by August 1st at 5pm/$40 until August 20th at 5:00 PM
5K Canicross: $35 by August 1st at 5pm/$45 until August 20th at 5:00 PM
10K: $40 by August 1st at 5pm/$50 until August 20th at 5:00 PM
Day of registration will not be an option this year. Please be sure to register online!
*All registrants will receive a complimentary finish line beer and snack.
Bib Pick-up
There will be two time slots for mandatory pre-race bib pick-up. This will take place as a drive-thru in our 30-minute parking lot Friday evening 4PM-6PM and Saturday morning 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All registered racers MUST be present to sign waivers and pickup race bibs. Friends and family will not be able to pick up for you.

Race Start Times
Start times are subject to change to adhere to CDC guidelines. Pre-race meetings will be held 10 minutes before each race start. We intend to do staggered starts within each race category and will provide more instructions as we get closer!
Canicross 5k race will start at 8:30 AM
10k race will begin at approximately 9:30 AM
5K race will begin at approximately 10:30 AM
There will be one water station along the course as well as one at the finish line, please carry any additional water you (or your pup) may need. We do encourage anyone who would prefer to carry their own water bottles to do so.
Awards
Celebrate your accomplishments with a complimentary finish-line beer and snack. Due to current CDC guidelines for public gatherings, we will mail winners their prizes in lieu of an awards ceremony this year.
The Triple Crown
In sports, few titles carry the prestige of "Triple Crown."
Now is your chance to join the ranks of Secretariat and American Pharaoh with a Triple Crown title of your own.
Typically this would require that you successfully complete the Sugarloaf Marathon or 15K, The Flume, and the Uphill Climb. Since we had to cancel the Marathon & 15K due to Covid-19, we have made a slight adjustment.
If you were already registered for the Marathon or 15K prior to the cancellation, and if you successfully complete the Flume on August 22nd, and the Uphill Climb on October 11th, you’ll receive a special, commemorative "Triple Crown" award, and enjoy 10% off registration fees for all three races next year.
