Event Description

Make your Monday count by coming out for Vail's 5th annual spring road race in the mountains. The 2017 Vail Valor Races offers several distances: marathon, half-marathon, 5-mile run/walk, and 1-mile memorial run/walk through town. The Vail Valor Races is an affordable and fun way to get everyone together to celebrate fitness and pay tribute to our nation's fallen heroes.

Don't miss this 2017 Memorial Day celebration in Vail, CO. Spring temps & stunning Gore Range views. Post-race calzone and made in the USA Valor finisher medal to all runners.

Course Description: Monday's races are alll on paved surfaces. Moderate terrain through residential neighborhoods and along Vail Bike Path. Rolling hills and scenic panorama highlight the 5-mile and half marathon course--marathoners enjoy the spectacular mountain views twice by repeating the half marathon course. The snow-capped Gore Range is inspiring! There will be a transition/drop bag area at the finish line of  the half marathon for marathon runners to access personal items before heading out on stage two (repeat of the half marathon route).

The course will be well-marked with plentiful aid stations along the way (5 in the half marathon and 10 in the full).  While we hope Race Day will be warm & sunny, springtime in the mountains can be unpredictable so plan accordingly and bring back-up clothing.
