Event Description

In memory of Randy Durbin, Madera FFA has organized a Memorial Run with proceeds benefitting the local American Red Cross. Randy Durbin was an honorable teacher, mentor, and friend. He had a passion for teaching, running, and swim safety. Randy passed away in September of 2020. May is National Water Safety Awareness Month. In honor of Mr. Durbin, May has been selected because of his contributions to water safety awareness, coaching local lifeguards, and providing swim lessons to the local youth.

This event is 100% virtual. The race can take place wherever you choose and you upload your results into the event. The timeframe for the event is from 5/22/2021 through 5/29/2021. You may choose to complete your run at any point during this time. The cost for this event is $20 per person. At the completion of this race, all proceeds will be donated to the local American Red Cross. 

Medals will be awarded to the top three male individuals, and the top three female individuals for each event. Randy was a Cher enthusiast. The best dressed Cher costume, as well as best dressed lifeguard will receive an award upon completion of the race. To enter, you will need to submit a photo with your results.
